Attended church this morning at First Baptist. In the afternoon, Greg and I went to the home site to clear cactus and mesquite from a road bed that leads from the main drive to the wooded area mentioned earlier. Greg went after prickly pear cactus with a pickaxe, and I used loppers on mesquite. After a while we worked together: Greg cut the mesquite trunks with loppers, and I tossed the trunks away. This method worked well. These mesquites grow in clusters of multiple slender trunks; unless you get the severed trunks out of the way, you can’t tell what to cut next.
