We walked around the home site again today, but this time we didn’t just look. Greg went to work with a pair of loppers, trimming the mesquite around the entrance and road bed so we can drive to the site without adding any more Texas pin-striping to our cars. My job was to make a map of the garden site, using Daniel’s compass, my trusty graph paper, and a distance-walker-measurer thing that was probably reading a little high because the ground was so bumpy. The result was a rough but usable map that will help us plan the layout of our garden and determine how many seed packets to buy.
The girls both helped me with my map, and Daniel and Anna got in some target practice with Daniel’s .22.
